All mobiles are assigned a unique 15 digit IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number upon production, Recently Indian govt. has issued an order for telecom companies to ban all mobile phones with fake IMEI number, largely this is found in the mobile phones purchased from gray market and chinese mobile phones.
Type *#06# on your Mobile to know your IMEI number, this code works on almost all mobiles, and alternatively you can find IMEI below the batter of you Mobile Phone.
You can use this tool check for the authenticity of your mobile’s IMEI number, just visit the link and enter you 15 digit IMEI number, and click on “analyse”, the tool will analyse your IMEI and will show whether it is correct or not and also provide you with the information about the Handset brand, Handset model, and Frequencies.
You can also send a SMS “15digit IMEI number” to 57886, and the reply will provide you with the information about the IMEI number.
